Our Story
How it all began

It all started with a twist of fate…or was it just an accident?

October 2003

It Was an Accident

In 2003, Jen had a car accident that changed her entire life’s trajectory. What she’d planned for was an opera career. What she learned was that no one wanted a leading lady with a limp. Several career false starts followed as she tried to find new purpose.

August 2008

I Wrote a Book!

In 2008, Jen wrote a book. In doing so, she unlocked a passion for writing and a drive to learn how writing could support her. For years, she cranked out copy for a copywriting firm and…it paid. But she didn’t love it.

August 2012

Finally In Love

In 2012, she joined Inbound Marketing Agents, where she learned more about the psychology behind content marketing. Finally! She loved what she did. The CMO left very soon after Jen joined the company, but it wasn’t the last time she’d hear from him.

September 2013

Hello, HubSpot

In 2013, she reached out to that former CMO who’d returned to work at HubSpot. She helped Sam Mallikarjunan launch the HubSpot Ecommerce blog, which has since been absorbed into the larger marketing blog. For three years, she learned as much as she could about buyer behavior and marketing technology.

September 2017

A Star Is Born

In 2017, after several more years of freelancing and working with top marketing agencies, Jen realized she had more work than she could complete on her own. After some planning and recruiting, Little Red Writing was born.

October 2018

Here Comes Allie

By 2018, Little Red Writing was providing content marketing services to several marketing agencies and a handful of direct clients. When one agency asked for social media marketing, Jen knew exactly who to call. Allie Gann had years of experience with content marketing and a sincere love for social media.

November 2019

A Book Is a Big Business Card

In 2019, Little Red Writing was approached for assistance in editing and formatting books for several business owners who’d completed a book workshop but weren’t sure of the next steps. After completing four published works, four more were sent our way. With that, we began our business book publishing service, with ghostwriting, editing, formatting, cover design, and Amazon publishing all offered.

January 2020

Rocking Along

By 2020, LRW was rocking along, assisting several agencies and multiple industries with their marketing. Services increased to include public relations, search engine optimization, and websites.

October 2024

In 2024, Little Red Writing had an opportunity they absolutely could not pass up: the chance to partner with the best SEO strategist Jen had ever worked with. Together, Be the Page SEO and Little Red Writing have built powerful websites that see incredible traffic increases for clients from a variety of industries.

Allie Gann
Content Director

Allie Gann has been a part of Little Red Writing since the beginning as a brand storyteller. She's been telling stories since she was a toddler. Her parents called them fibs, but she begs to differ. She learned the writing trade at a content mill and then spent some time as a freelance content manager for a Nashville marketing agency, where she learned to combine her love for storytelling—real stories, not fibs—with her love for marketing. She’s a small-town girl at heart, mom to a whip-smart son and a daughter who also likes to tell “stories,” and a cheese lover.
