Let’s say, for just a second, that you’re actually happy with your conversion rate. Maybe it’s coming in right at or just above industry averages, which means you’re probably doing a lot of things right.

But…what if you could increase your conversion rate just a little bit more? What if you went from 2.5% to 3%? Just a half a percent more could increase your revenue by thousands and decrease your customer acquisition cost—which means you’d get to keep even more of that revenue.

Is that worth making a few changes? We thought so.

Make Your Unique Selling Proposition Clear

Take a good look at your website. What’s the very first thing people see when they visit?

If your Unique Selling Proposition isn’t immediately and abundantly clear—as in front and center, above the fold—you may lose them just as quickly as they arrived. Your buyers should know right away what sets you apart from your competitors.

If your current website design doesn’t allow for that, change it.

Clear Product Descriptions

We’re storytellers. We love a good story. But your buyers? They want to see right away what they’re thinking about purchasing. Give them the facts up front and then weave wonder with your words.

As an added bonus, Google will love you more, too. When they crawl your content, they’ll know exactly what the product is, which means you’ll be more easily found in searches.

Make Navigation Simple

The longer someone has to search your site for the products they want, the more likely they are to run to your competitors. If your navigation menu is convoluted, or if pages are hard to access without a direct link, you’re probably hemorrhaging buyers.

If you’re not sure if your navigation is easy, ask someone—preferably someone who’s not already familiar with your website.

We could talk all day about the psychology behind conversion rates, but we’ll stop here. These are easy fixes that require no more than the marketing tools you already have at your fingertips. If you need help, we’re here.
